Cicada Gallery is the business name under which I have done business as an independent contractor since 1998. There is no deep hidden meaning to the name. My daughter, who was seven at the time suggested that mommy's new "work" should be named cicada because I liked their song so much. And, since the cicadas' song was near deafening that day in June it seemed somehow more than appropriate. So perhaps the better question then would be, who is Sue Waite-Langley? That question too is rather easily answered. I am a single mom who has raised her girls doing contract work under a company named after a loud, bug-eyed, slightly prehistoric looking...bug.
